Job Description Cyber Security Analyst (intermediate)  – Full-Time Contract

  • Support development, implementation, and communication of projects related to cybersecurity activities and programs. 
  • Lead the set-up and execution of cybersecurity program events, briefings, and Client meetings. 
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct risk assessments and security audits/surveys to identify potential vulnerabilities, threats against critical value assets. 
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Create and maintain security policies, protocols, and procedures in accordance with industry best practices. 
  • Emergency preparedness Management: Develop and implement protocols for responding to security incidents, emergencies, and crises. 
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations on security incidents, risk assessments, and security program effectiveness. 
  • Respond to audit requests. 
  • Own the scoping and execution of risk assessments and recommend risk mitigation strategies.   
  • Develop and own key performance indicators and metrics associated with Client’s security posture. 
  • Assist in developing and enforcing security policies.
  • Be available for afterhours work on projects  
  • Stay up to date with the latest information security trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement of the organization’s security posture 

Job Requirements: 

  • Working knowledge/experience with network systems, security principles and applications 
  • Able to communicate with directors, project managers, architects and developers 
  • Strong analysis and critical thinking skills 
  • 3+ years Networking/Infrastructure Support/Troubleshooting: 
  • Networking design skills 
  • Cloud Computing skills 
  • Understanding of Application Architectures 
  • Understanding of Identity Security Models   
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems 
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills 
  • Good understanding of network protocols (for example: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP etc. 
  • Ability to respond to work during off hours is required. 
  • Three years or more of professional experience or job-related experience in Information Security, or Information Technology

  • Ability to apply good judgment while making decisions independently or with minimal supervision. 
  • Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. 
  • Evaluates the security controls within network systems to identify vulnerabilities and recommend actions to correct problems working either alone or as part of a team. 
  • Ensures integrity of IT systems by identifying and mitigating potential avenues of exploitation including system level attacks and user level attacks. 
  • Applies experience with NIST SP 800-53 and IRAM 
  • Demonstrated experience conducting hands on security testing, analyzing results, documenting risks, and recommending countermeasures 
  • Demonstrated experience developing risk assessment reports 
  • Demonstrated experience providing threat analysis based on identified security vulnerabilities 
  • Demonstrated experience testing security architectures of cloud-based systems and applications, identifying vulnerabilities and providing security remediation

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline) 
  • Required Experience: 3+ yrs 
  • Clearance: Security Clearance Required
  • Required Technical Skills: 
  • Strong understanding of the Threat Risk Assessment process 
  • Excellent oral and technical writing skills 
  • Desired Certifications: 
  • CASP, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, or GCIH 

Compensation: $78,000 to $105,000  

Location: Remote in Ontario
